Install the jar.
The 1.16.5 build, on Java 8 to 16.
Drop it in plugins/ like any other plugin. Nothing else to install
— the database driver ships with the server.
Check your Java first
On the machine that runs the server, not on your own computer:
java -version
You want Java 8 to 16. If your host runs something else by default, this is the thing to fix before anything else — a mismatch fails with an error that names a class-file version rather than the plugin, which sends people looking in the wrong place for an hour.
Then the jar
Not released yet, so there is nothing to download today. The download page is where it will appear, and it is worth reading the Java table there now.
